Make ahead easy pie crust (makes 20 pie crusts)

Skinless Wild Turkey

  • 1 wild turkey (skinned)
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 2 cups water

Soak pre-washed turkey in sink of water with 1/4 cup salt for 1 hr.



Rinse and towel dry.



Coat with 2 Tbs. butter



Place in roaster. Add 2 cups water and cover with foil.

Bake at 325 for 2-3 hrs or until at least 165 degrees(tested in thigh).

If using crock pot, use 1 cup water.



Pour pan drippings through a strainer and into a saucepan.

Bring to a boil.



  • Thickened Broth
  • pan drippings
  • 2 Tbs. cornstarch or tapioca starch (dissolved in 1 cup water)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Add starch, salt and pepper to boiling broth and bring back to a boil by whisking constantly.




Pour into a gravy boat.



Pour some over sliced turkey to add to moisture, then keep the rest for mashed potatoes.
